The property was constructed in 1895 by one of the foremost architects of the Victorian era, John Douglas. John Douglas was responsible for the Eastgate Clock and much of the design within the Grosvenor Estate. A variety of his trademark architectural features are present within the property, which has been sympathetically restored. The property enjoys a pressurised gas central heating system with reclaimed radiators, security alarm system, oak panelled doors with ornate hinges, escutcheons, door plates and acorn catch details, acorn newel post details, a large expanse of oak panelled flooring and numerous original stained glass and leaded windows originally crafted and bespoke produced by the original architect, featuring details of architectural imagery, the architects son, and family insignia and the contemporary imagery of the era.
